An appreciation for what is. A vision for what could be.
Because limitations are the birthplace of creativity.
At Telfeyan Studio, our passion is helping you see new potential in the home you already have. Guided by imagination and discernment, we believe the most meaningful transformations begin not with what needs replacing, but with recognizing what’s worth keeping.
Craftsman Kitchen, Bay Area, California
The challenge in this California Craftsman was to optimize the functionality of the kitchen without stretching the budget. By opening an existing alcove the layout gained usable space for added cabinetry, more counter area, and a breakfast nook, all within the existing footprint.
Bungalow Bathroom, Bay Area, California
The bathroom still had its hundred-year-old layout, complete with a light switch inside the shower. We kept the footprint, but rethought everything you touch and see, prioritizing adding as much storage as possible.
Dining Nook, Washington DC
Once an exterior porch, this dining nook lacked the architectural detail of the original house. Raising the floor eliminated an awkward step down and made the space more usable, while an arched opening, pendant lighting, and curtains brought warmth and character. A handful of thoughtful changes helped the room feel like a natural extension of the home.
Jennifer Telfeyan | Founder
Though my career has spanned continents and industries, the one passion that has consistently weaved throughout each chapter of my life has been interior design, even when I was a young child and did not yet have a name for it. A fascination for what makes a space both beautiful and feel like home has been a part of me for as long as I can remember.
My early career brought me to Italy where I received my masters degree from L’Universita’ di Scienze Gastronomiche and subsequently lived for seven years. Here is where I learned to value the old, work with what I had (this in the form of often questionably furnished rental apartments), and the unexpected gifts that limitations bring.
Running my own boutique residential real estate firm in the San Francisco Bay Area gave me the opportunity to dive deeper into my love of design and architecture. What set my business apart from others was my discernment in identifying upgrades that sellers could do prior to putting their homes on the market that would yield tremendous results. Helping sellers prepare their homes for market, I guided design decisions, sourced materials and finishes, and oversaw trades—always considering where changes would make the greatest difference.
That experience continues to shape my approach: recognize what’s worth keeping, rethink what isn’t working, and spend thoughtfully. Today, I bring that same discernment to helping people create homes they love living in, as well as homes they’re preparing to sell.
